A Magnificent Pieta, the gift of Mr and Mrs Scully, of St Patrick’s, in memory of the 1921 National Pilgrimage to Lourdes in July, was unveiled and blessed in the church during the year. The Pieta, which consists of a life-sized figure of Our Lady holding the dead body of Our Lord, is the work of a famous Parisian artist. It is placed on a magnificent oak pedestal in the Mortuary Chapel of the church.
